Doral Bank Executive Recognized for Corporate Social Responsibility
Lucienne Gigante receives recognition as Community Relations Professional from prestigious US Public Relations organization.

PR News, important public relations source, recognized the hard work of Lucienne Gigante, SVP Marketing, Public Relations and Community at Doral Bank, with the "PR People Award: Community Relations Professional of the Year."

Gigante, who has led the community strategy of the Bank for the past 4 years under its CEO and President, Glen Wakeman, is responsible for creating programs that support the environment, women leaders, education and human trafficking. Some of these programs are: d parques, Mujeres d Éxito, d hogares y Se Trata. Gigante attributes the success of said efforts, in great part, to Wakeman's vision; as CEO, he recognizes the value of alliances in the community.

"Lucienne Gigante arrived in Puerto Rico four years ago to help transform Doral Bank's image with bravado and a highly aggressive, 'no-holds-barred' CSR strategy," wrote Scott Van Camp, editor at PR News.

"In 2011, three years, seven sustainable community programs and 14 critically acclaimed social outreach initiatives later, Gigante continues to prove that a bank that puts people's interest first can not only succeed, but lead the pack." adds Van Camp.

Gigante receives this award two months after launching the bank's most recent initiative, Ruta Mujeres d Éxito, which, as an extension of the program Mujeres d Éxito, educated more than 500 women entrepreneurs through seminars and financial presentations of their allies.

The PR People Awards are celebrated annually to honor public relations professionals around the world who lead the most successful communications initiatives of the year.
