Professional women and entrepreneurs received free educational tools and seminars thanks to Ruta Mujeres d Éxito in the cities of Arecibo, Caguas, Humacao and San Juan. The events, part of Doral's knowledge-built proposal to support women's entrepreneurial development, assisted more than 500 women, who met at Doral's branches to learn new leadership skills and take advantage of the networking opportunity.
During the events, Doral recognized women leaders in their communities for their social and entrepreneurial initiative. The four women recognized were:
- Sra. Rosian Vélez – Arecibo
- Dra. María Teresa Ríos Hernández – Caguas
- Beatriz Archilla – Humacao
- Dimarie Valentín – San Juan
As part of the educational program, the women selected for Despegue Empresarial – a Doral initiative that gave $50,000 to five women entrepreneurs with growth potential for their business – shared their success stories at the events and connected with other women walking along their same path.
Puerto Rico's own Dagmar, closed every event with a musical setlist including songs such as "Olas y Arena" and "Bésame Mucho". Dagmar also sang sacred songs along with the children present.
"We're proud of supporting the professional and entrepreneurial development of women in Puerto Rico. At Doral, we've always worked to make a difference in our communities, and our achievements with this program is evident. The participants have learned and enjoyed a lot," said Lucienne Gigante, SVP Marketing, Public Relations and Community at Doral.
Ruta Mujeres d Éxito's seminars were offered by experts in subjects like marketing, communications, professional etiquette, business plans, leadership, human resources, permits, and accounting. Among some of the speakers were Beatriz Ferreira, from RB Personnel; Denise Román, from PMA Services; Frances Ríos, from Frances Rios Communications, Dagmar, who offered a motivational talk; and Alexandra Malagón, who served as MC for all the events and also shared her professional story.
Doral's support to women has been consistent since 2007, with community programs such as Pink, Ruta Pink, Style a Student, Women Leadearship Network, Mujeres d Éxito, and its extension in the latest, Ruta Mujeres d Éxito. Doral has invested nearly $2M in initiatives to support women's professional and entrepreneurial development.
