Winners of mujeres d éxito

The assessment committee selected 5 business owning women with over 2 years of experience. Each of them received $50,000 for the development of their business.

From the total amount awarded:

  • $25,000 will be awarded as a grant.
  • $25,000 will be given in the form of a loan especially designed for this program, with more flexible terms than the current market's.

Profits from the repayment of this loan will be allocated to Fondo Doral at Fundación Comunitaria de P.R. to continue helping women's professional development.

Grafed Solutions is a Community Pharmacy dedicated to the exclusive sale of OTC and prescription drugs.

Marisol's pharmacy tends to patients with rare and chronic diseases that need special treatment. These medications require to be administered by injection, infusion and/or orally.

This pharmacy is in what Marisol refers to as "Phase I". To take her company to "Phase 2", Marisol will use the $50,000 towards hiring a task force that will allow the complete operation of the "Infusion Center" in the pharmacy. In the ambulatory Infusion Center, patients can receive their drug infusions in a confidential, homey and comfortable setting.

Marisol's vision is to provide intravenous therapy to patients in a comfortable way, without having to go through the hassle of going to a hospital. The Grafed Solutions Infusion Center will serve the center and south population of Puerto Rico, which currently do not have this type of ambulatory service in their area.

Nathalia's mission is to create a unique image for each of her clients, tempered to their personality and reflected on the design, yet being true to the artist's vision.

Nathalia López Atelier's top seller is the Nati collection, which consists of blouses, dresses and purses—all hand painted by the designer herself.

Nathalia will use her $50,000 to increase the manufacturing of merchandise by hiring skilled personnel, expand her line of business or lower priced items and elaborate the mechanics of her print collection.

Sandrysabel is dedicated to satisfying the needs of women in their daily lives.

Shoes are an important part of women lives, providing comfort and versatility to some, and to others a confidence booster.

Square Shoe brings the concept of Heel Condoms to Puerto Rico; these are decoration pieces for high heels. Heel Condoms are sold online, on the official website theheelcondoms.com.

The $50,000 will take Sandrysabel closer to her goal of opening three booth stores in different shopping centers around the Island and eventually, in other cities around the world. With this in mind, she will invest in the proper work force to manage the booths, acquire inventory, and hire a programmer to develop and maintain the application needed to monitor all operations.

In addition to this, Sandrysabel wants to include shoes in her inventory, including a prototype piece that may be used as a high heel and may be turned into a flat shoe as well.

For over five decades, Los Reyes Banana served as direct suppliers of small bananas ("guineos niño"), an agricultural product of high consumption in the local market.

Today, Yesenia sells her product to local supermarkets such as Super Max, Econo and Selectos.

Yesenia's goal is to serve as the First Distributor of Small Bananas in the Country. The $50,000 will be used to expand the business operations to reach out to the higher demands of some of the prospective customers, such as Wal-Mart, Sams and Amigo, invest in new equipment required to reach a higher production and a small truck for easier distribution.

Hidrocultivos Carolinenses is alternative hydroponics agriculture with organic controls to ensure a top quality crop.

This company is responsible of the creation of the brand VerdeEs; Fine crops from Puerto Rico., through which products such as cilantro, Green Leaf, Mesclun and Romaine lettuce are distributed. VerdeEs has the 100% Puerto Rican bred and crop seal.

María de Jesús focuses on good management of natural and environmental resources, maximizing them and contributing to the environment.

The $50,000 will help María de Jesús further develop the brand image VerdeEs, with a distinctive packaging that will be reusable, new uniforms for the production and distribution employees, and public access cameras that will record the whole production process of the product. In addition, María de Jesús is thinking of buying a new van for easier distribution.
