Doral Financial Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, (hereinafter designated as "DORAL"), value having you as our customer and are committed to protecting your privacy. Accordingly, here you will find a summary of our practices regarding the handling of the personal information you provide us and your right s regarding this information. This Policy applies to current and former clients.
What type of Information do we collect and how do we obtain it?
We must collect information about you in other to offer you best possible products and services that best suit your financial needs. We collect the following information form various sources, including:
- Personal information, which includes name, social security number, address and phone number that you provide us on credit applications, account opening documents, or any other document
- Transaction Information, such as balance, internet banking, payment history, and credit card transactions with DORAL.
- Credit Information, such as credit capacity and history that we obtain from a consumer reporting agencies.
With whom do we share information?
We only share the abovementioned information with our affiliates and subsidiaries. Our affiliates and subsidiaries are companies control by Doral Financial Corporation and which provides different banking services and products as: consumer banking, consumer mortgage loans and insurances. For example the following are some of these subsidiaries and affiliates: Doral Bank, Doral Mortgage LLC, Doral Insurance Agency Inc., Doral Bank FSB New York, NY and Doral Securities.
DORAL do not share customer's personal information with nonaffiliated third parties, except as permitted by law. Non-affiliated third parties are companies and organizations that are not part of, or are controlled by Doral Financial Company. As an exception provided by law, we only share your personal information with respectable institutions to carry out marketing services on our behalf. Also, we enter into joint marketing agreements with other companies only for the purpose of offering you privileges and services. When we enter in joint marketing agreements, we only share the necessary information to achieve the aforementioned purposes. Moreover, we require via contract that these companies maintain strict confidentiality of the information provided and limit its use solely for the purpose for which was provided.
Privacy and information security measures for DORAL customers
DORAL has established physical, electronic controls, procedures and security measures for the protection and privacy of your personal information. In addition, we limit the access to your information to those employees who need it to provide you products and services, or to those who need access to comply with federal and local regulations of the financial industry. We hold our employees responsible for complying with our Privacy Policy and its principles, and we take the appropriate measures to ensure the responsibility of our employees, as specified in our Code of Ethics and Enterprise Conduct and Employee Manual. To ensure that we successfully accomplish these priority practices, as an organization we have:
- Established formal guidelines for management and staff to ensure and protect your non-public personal information.
- Notify existing customers about our data protection and privacy policy and practice.
- Established guidelines that dictate conditions under which we can share nonpublic personal information about customers to affiliates and, under certain exceptions as permitted by law, to nonaffiliated third parties.
- Allowed customers to choose whether or not the wish for their nonpublic personal information to by share, subject to specific exceptions, which we also describe in this Opt-Out Request Form.

What are your privacy options?
DORAL offers you options regarding the handling of information that we collect about you. If you allow us to share your personal information among our subsidiaries and affiliates, you do not have to return the Opt- Out Return Form.
If you choose that you do not want us sharing your personal information among our affiliates and subsidiaries, regarding marketing campaigns of products and services, complete the Opt-Out Request Form included above, and send it by mail to:

Your Opt-Out request will be effective in approximately four weeks. Please remember that if you make this choice, DORAL may still share your information according to the regulation provisions. Your Opt-Out request will be effective until you revoke it in writing. If you have already filled out an Opt-Out request it is not necessary to send it again. If you have joint accounts, the secondary account holder will not receive this disclosure. Therefore, the secondary account holder should request it separately.

By filling out this form and sending it to the address above you can limit the sharing of your personal information, as stated in this Policy. Your Opt-Out request will be effective in approximately four weeks. In the case of joint accounts, as for joint accountholders and co-debtors, the election by one of the joint customers will be applied to the account.
